Ricardo Gallén in Concert - Guitar Maestro

Frequently compared to greats like Bream and Segovia, hailed for his virtuosity and musical elegance, prize winning Spanish classical guitarist Ricardo Gallén will give his Melbourne debut performance in the intimacy of Melba Hall.
His program will include works by Albéniz, Rodrigo, Brouwer, Regondi and JS Bach. Recipient of over twenty prizes and awards, Ricardo Gallén performs extensively as recitalist in major festivals and halls throughout the world and has appeared as a soloist with leading orchestras in Europe and America. He teaches at the University of Extremadura, Spain and the Franz Liszt Hochschule für Musik in Weimar and was formerly Ellliot Fisk's assistant at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. He has recorded extensively and has several CDs available through Naxos performing music by Giuliani, Brouwer, Takemitsu as well as the complete concertos for guitar and orchestra by Joaquin Rodrigo.

Prize winning Spanish classical guitarist Ricardo Gallén teaches at the University of Extremadura, Spain and the Franz Liszt Hochschule für Musik in Weimar and was formerly Ellliot Fisk's assistant at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. He will share his experience with students from the School of Music in a unique masterclass.
