Regional Reachout

The Classical Guitar Society of Victoria is a non-profit organization made up of a group of committed teachers, leaders and enthusiasts of the Victorian classical guitar scene. The society is primarily concerned with the enrichment and promotion of classical guitar in Victoria.

This vision is to be achieved by aiding the study and performance of classical guitar to local teachers and their students as well as providing Master Classes and performances by national and international performers. Moreover, engaging the public to participate in their role as devotees and sponsors.

The Society is actively searching out Regional Representatives to carry our vision to Classical Guitar Players in their home town and surrounding area.

Benefits for being a CGSV town:
Have world class guitar players come to your town throughout the year for performances, workshops and Master Classes. Have guest speakers and players come to your school to excite and motivate your students to learn an instrument and see the benefits of beginning music on the Classical Guitar.

The Role of A CGSV Region Rep:
The Regional Representative is an honorary position. You will require self motivation, planning skills, an enthusiasm for education and an interest in Classical Guitar. CGSV Region Reps will receive support from the main body of CGSV, but the role is there for you to become an important link in the society and to connect members in your local community to CGSV.

To represent the Victorian Classical Guitar Society in your area, please contact us.

First Regional Meeting in Ballarat makes headlines!

The innaugural CGSV Ballarat members meeting on Saturday the 7th of June was a great success with several members from Melbourne making the trek out to Ballarat by train. The Turret Cafe was very accomodating, providing space and Kristine and Peter from Ballarat members thoughtfully arranged for a journalist to interview some of us for an article in a local newspaper. Around 13 people played at the event ranging from beginner youngsters to seasoned players. Lots lattes and fun was had by all. Special mention to all those who made the effort to come from Melbourne and Bendigo. See you at the next meeting on the first Saturday of next month at La Statzione Cafe at Flinders Station (enter on Flinders St between the two main entrances to the station). See Ballarat news article.
