CGSV Orchestra

We have begun out exciting new Society Guitar Orchestra, with Ben Dix, VCA Secondary Teacher as conductor. Even in the first few weeks our motivated group of 12 has shown real talent. We are eagerly looking forward to seeing a real feast of polished ensemble pieces at the concert in late October early November. For more info on the orchestra email us.

First Regional Meeting in Ballarat makes headlines!

The innaugural CGSV Ballarat members meeting on Saturday the 7th of June was a great success with several members from Melbourne making the trek out to Ballarat by train. The Turret Cafe was very accomodating, providing space and Kristine and Peter from Ballarat members thoughtfully arranged for a journalist to interview some of us for an article in a local newspaper. Around 13 people played at the event ranging from beginner youngsters to seasoned players. Lots lattes and fun was had by all. Special mention to all those who made the effort to come from Melbourne and Bendigo. See you at the next meeting on the first Saturday of next month at La Statzione Cafe at Flinders Station (enter on Flinders St between the two main entrances to the station). See Ballarat news article.
